Meta Description Content Instead Of Title In Search Results

For a freebie, Master Search does a pretty good job.

There is no keyword or pre-crawled content database. Any changes on web pages are available instantly as each search scans the web pages anew.

It does, however, print only the title of pages where it finds a match.

To make it print the content of a meta description tag, instead, open the script in a plain text word processor and scroll down to about line 161. There, you'll find this line:

$tp = 'Untitled' unless $tp =~ s/\A.*?\<[\s]*title[\s]*\>(.*?)\<[\s]*\/[\s]*title.*\Z/$1/si;

Replace the above line with these 8 lines:

if($tp =~ /<meta\s(.*?name="?description"?[^>]+)/is) { $tp = $1; $tp =~ s/name="?description"?//i; $tp =~ s/^\s*content="?//is; $tp =~ s/[\s"]*$//is; } else { $tp = 'Description unavailable'; }

Now, install the changed script and you're good to go :)
