Custom Error Page for Master Recommend ProBy Will Bontrager Master Recommend Pro provides a generic error page to the form user when applicable. Here are directions on how to insert the error message into your own page. One of the scripts needs to have 5 new lines inserted. These are the lines: The second line, between quotation marks, contains a URL. Replace that URL with the URL to your own error page. The edit is in script MRPalways.cgi. Scroll down to line 175, where you'll see: Insert the 5 new lines immediately above the print <<HTML; line. You'll end up with: Always edit Perl CGI scripts with a plain text word processor like NotePad or TexEdit. Also, upload and download them with an FTP program as ASCII/plain text. Your error page should contain the [[MESSAGE]] placeholder. That placeholder tells Master Recommend Pro where to insert the error message. Without the placeholder, error messages aren't printed. Also, all src and href attribute URLs on the error page must be absolute http://... URLs. Because the error page is displayed from within Master Recommend Pro, almost always a different directory than where the error page itself is located, relative URLs will break. Here is an example error page: The above will work, as is. Once you see how it works, replace the page with your own, not forgetting the [[MESSAGE]] placeholder.
