How To Message Users with CSS Turned Off

Some web pages use CSS to such an extent that browsers with style sheets turned off render a real mess.

If layers are used to display and hide content, or other DHTML is used, JavaScript must also be turned on in order to deliver the intended user experience.

This snippet of code can remind users, when appropriate, that CSS and JavaScript must be turned on to use the web page.

Put the above into your web page source code at the ideal location for the message. Change the message as appropriate.

The way it works:

When the page loads, the message is displayed.

Also when the page loads, JavaScript hides the message.

However, JavaScript can not hide the message if JavaScrpt is turned off or if style sheets are turned off. The message then remains visible.
