Link Cloak Code GeneratorBy Will Bontrager Sometimes it is prudent to cloak links by controlling what the browser's status bar displays. Affiliate URLs are a candidate for cloaking because some people won't click on an affiliate link if they know that's what it is. This won't cloak URLs from spiders, just control the browser's status bar to display your preferred URL or message to site users. It works with JavaScript. Below, you'll find an example link before and after cloaking. Following the example, is the Link Cloak Code Generator itself. Example: Let's suppose your link currently is <a href="http://example.com/?id=1234">Click Here</a> and you want to cloak the link URL so only "http://example.com/" is in the status bar when the mouse hovers over the link. So you would type in http://example.com/ at the first form field of the generator, leave the second form field blank, and then click the button. Once you copy the code generated in the textarea box and paste it into your link, you'll have something like this: Don't use the above for your link.
