50 MPH Sand In the AirBy Will Bontrager My, what a sand storm we had yesterday. They had predicted gusts up to 50 mph, and I believe we were hit with several. While taking Princess Leah for a walk, it felt like a gritty snowstorm out there, only not as cold. The satellite dish on top the RV is designed to take winds up to a maximum of 45 mph. We took it down. I would rather be without 'net for a day than for weeks while the dish is reinstalled. Some VCC Members who requested their free copy of Master Secret Hidden Fields Pro had to wait until this morning to get their download code. Several customer projects, and our own projects, were put on hold. In the meantime, we attempted to remove the grit from the house. Vacuum cleaners come in handy for that job. In the lower photo of Mari's Revisiting New Mexico blog post you'll see high hills/low mountains in the near distance. That photo was taken at dusk, when the light was leaving. That same mountain, in the middle of the day, disappeared from view behind the sand so thick in the air. March 9, 2006 Please note: Articles on this website are presented "as is".
