Expecting Technical Support for SoftwareBy Will Bontrager If you're going to offer software for sale, think about technical support. Support is expected. When someone buys software, and they have problems with it, maybe something simple like the inability to uncompress a ZIP file, they will expect you to help them out. Even if you plainly state on your sales page that support is not included in the price, some will expect it anyway. After all, why should they have to pay you more money just to get the thing installed? Hardly anyone expects Microsoft to provide free support. But you, the little guy, are expected to. Our Master Series CGI Programs and BontragerCGI.com Software come with free email support. We know you expect it. It is best for us that we provide free support. Really. Because if you have problems, we'll hear about it. And we'll be in a position where we can improve the documentation or the software so the problem is less likely to repeat.
