Master Quiz
A person might think a quiz is only for academic uses. But
quizzes can be put to use in many other situations, too.
Here are a few examples:
- A home burglar and fire alarm company puts a quiz
on their site to let prospects determine their own
need for the company's products. When the CGI
program processes the quiz answers, a different
scores/acknowledgement page is presented depending
on the total score:
A "You have a high risk" page for a high score; a
"You're probably okay but should still take a few
precautions" page for a medium score; and a "You
seem to be in a low risk category" page for a low
score.
- A site wants to put up a special sale for those who
enjoy the outdoors. So they put up a quiz asking
about favorite outdoor activities. Depending on
the answer, certain categories of products are
presented with discounts.
- A publishing company has many dozens of titles. So,
they use a set of quizzes to determine the site
visitor's interests. Then they present only the
titles within that interest instead of a confusing
array.
For example, the first quiz could determine the
genre or category of greatest interest. A second
quiz would then help to narrow the interest so an
appropriate list of titles can be presented.
- A web site design company asks a series of questions
to help determine a potential client's requirements.
The total score is used to select the special
acknowledgement page with the correct blurb slanted
for the discovered requirements.
- A fabric sales site can educate their visitors
with a quiz about how to calculate fabric needs
for different sewing projects. This can be similar
to an academic quiz except the questions and their
correct answers are presented on the scores page.
This article introduces Master Quiz, a versatile quiz
generation and processing program.

- Answers can be the type where only one may be
selected (radio buttons) or the type where more
than one may be selected (checkboxes).
- Scores/results pages are generated from templates
you design.
- Different scores/results pages can be presented
depending on the value of the total score. If
desired, those scores pages can contain another
quiz -- as many levels as you want.
- The quiz taker can, optionally, be emailed with
the scores.
- You, the webmaster, can optionally be emailed
whenever a quiz is taken.
Also, there are no limits to:
- The number of quizzes that can be processed so long
as the quiz forms are on your domain.
- The number of questions on any quiz.
- The number of answer choices for any question.
