Subject: :( A trouble with "Pre-Installation Tester" :(

Hi,
It is the first time I am using this nice and neat forum. I sent this message yesterday to Will. I thought that it is better to send it here to help me ASAP.

I am beginner in using cgi script. The most important things which I want to know now, before any thing is to be confident of my server:
1) Do they let me to have complete control over my cgi-bin?
2) Do they have public modules Perl? Which version of Perl they use?

I don't know any of these answers. Why? Because my server is the most strangest server which ever seen. They don't have any email to contact and ask them or even Telnet them?!

I also downloaded "Pre-Installation Tester" thinking that all my problems going to be solved. But in spite of uploading it carefully, it can't run correctly. Briefly I should say:

"Help! I am trying to install a cgi script and keep getting a message like "You are not authorized to view this page".

Please take a look at my site which I uploaded "MasterPreInstallationTester.cgi" there:
http://programmer.arowa.com/MasterPreInstallationTester.cgi

P.S: Also I'll be thankful if you tell me bout a server that is "%100 free web page hosting and let us compete control over our cgi-bin"

Any help appreciated

Lisa

Lisa, the questions about whether or not you can use your cgi-bin and what Perl modules are installed, those must be answered by your hosting service. If you can't get intouch with by their published contact information, try the method you used when you first got their service.

Regarding free hosting with cgi-bin, you might consider http://hypermart.net/
