I want to know that how more than one action can be applied to a form.
For example:
When a user submits a form on my web site his information goes to my database and a confirmation mail also goes to the user
I don't know how to do that.Kindly help me.

Yes, form handling programs are availble that can process information in multiple ways. Master Form V3 from http://willmaster.com/master/formV3/ is one that can. It can send any number of emails and update any number of databases whenever a form submit button is clicked. It can do other things, too, like multi-page forms, file uploads, email attachments, and personalized "thank you" pages.
