broken links?

Is there a script that can check out-bound links to see which URLs that may be linked from a site are no longer online?

In an effort to clarify: I need to be able to see which links from an index I maintain on my Web site are obsolete in order to keep the index up-to-date--and it's a huge index that would take all day to review manuelo.
